We've compiled various digital collections of our images. The digital collection has grown to over 20,000 images and continues to grow. Thousands of additional images are available at the Photo Library in room 532A of the Agriculture Jamie L. Whitten Building. Staff photojournalist Ken Hammond has a special section on the Cicadias. There are about 2,000 species of cicadas worldwide, most of them found in tropical or temperate regions. Most of the more than 100 species found in North America have short life cycles, between two and eight years.

One of USDA's greatest responsibilities is the overseeing of America's nutrition. The Women, Infants and Children ( WIC ) program is a key element in which USDA exercises that responsibility in nurturing and protecting the most vulnerable of our people. Photography Center staff photojournalist Ken Hammond recently spent some time at a WIC clinic and has put together this collection for your use.

For over 100 years 4 H clubs have been building character and promoting a strong work ethic in Americas youth. 4H projects in raising, caring for and showing animals continue to develop good citizens across the country. We've just put up a new section showing 4H youngsters and their animals.

Most of the photographs on display in this section were taken between 1937 and 1943 during the Farm Security Administration (FSA) era. The entire FSA collection of almost 300,000 pictures are housed at the Library of Congress and the National Archives and Records Administration. Included on these pages are other USDA photographs, some of which date back to the 1800s.Additional photos are planned to be added.
